Acceptable Use

Photographs you upload

By uploading a photograph you confirm that:

• You took it, or you otherwise have the right to use it
• Every identifiable person in it is either your own child, or someone whose parent, guardian or self has given you permission
• It does not depict a child in a state of undress, or in any sexualised context
• It is not a photograph of a public figure or a stranger

Uploads are screened automatically before use. If a photograph cannot be screened it is held and never enters production until a person has reviewed it.

What we will not make

• Anything sexualising a child, in any way, ever
• Content depicting a real, identifiable person without their permission
• Content promoting hatred or violence toward any group
• Content designed to frighten, shame, punish or humiliate the child it is about
• Content that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark, including using an existing franchise’s characters or world
• Content presenting medical, legal or safety claims as fact

Free-text you write

Dedications, gift notes, interests, intake answers and any page text you edit are screened for the above. If something is refused you will be told what to change; we do not silently alter your words.

If a rule is broken

Depending on severity we may hold the specific item for review, refuse and refund the order, or close the account. Content that appears to depict the sexual exploitation of a child is reported to the appropriate authorities. There is no discretion on that one.

Reporting something

If you believe something on this service breaks this policy, or that your photograph or copyrighted work has been used without permission, email hello@kidfablebooks.com with enough detail to find it. We act on credible reports quickly, and we will tell you what we did.

Copyright complaints

To submit a copyright notice, include: identification of the work, identification of the material you say infringes it and where to find it, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorised to act for the owner.
